Before going to market, all food products in Canada must be evaluated and labeled in accordance with Canada’s Food and Drug Act and Regulations. There must be a Nutrition Facts table and label values that accurately reflect nutrient content and compliancy claims. All of this information must be presented in both of Canada’s official languages — French and English. This is enforced by The Canadian Food Inspection Agency [CFIA].
