Job Opportunity - Regulatory Affairs Specialist

Source Nutraceutical, Inc. is a fast-growing company with offices in Winnipeg, Manitoba and Vancouver, British Columbia. The company serves the food, functional food, natural health product, OTC drug and cosmetic industries by being an integrated source for all regulatory, packaging compliance, graphical, marketing support and order fulfillment needs. Source Nutraceutical, Inc. has a substantial and growing domestic and foreign client base.

The company has positions of Regulatory Affairs Specialist open in both the Vancouver and Winnipeg offices. The Regulatory Affairs Specialist assists the Manager of Regulatory Affairs by supporting clients' regulatory application requirements, quality assurance activities, packaging and labeling of their products for importation into and/or sale in Canada.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Verifying compliance with Canadian legislation regarding the product formulation, labeling and packaging requirements for importation into and/or sale of domestic and foreign clients' food, dietary supplements, natural health products, OTC drugs and cosmetics in Canada;
  • Submission of regulatory applications to Health Canada in an accurate and timely manner;
  • Liaising with clients' technical and/or marketing staff regarding their products' compliance;
  • Liaising with federal regulators; and
  • Reviewing related printed materials for completeness, accuracy and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications and Experience Preferred:

  • Degree in Chemistry, Food Science or related field;
  • Working knowledge of Canada's Natural Health Product Regulations ;
  • Working knowledge of Canada's Food and Drugs Act ;
  • Experience in the food or nutraceuticals industry in operations, quality assurance and/or lab testing environments;
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, Standard Operating Procedures and/or HACCP as it relates to manufacturing or laboratory environments;
  • Analytical scientific skills;
  • Scientific literature research experience and ability to interpret and apply the information and data presented in scientific and clinical studies;
  • High level of initiative and self direction;
  • Goal-oriented and desire to contribute to the company's success;
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills;
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple projects;  
  • Computer literate; and
  • Be able to thrive in an environment of growth and change.
